Overview

Built and improved backend services for customer and expert workflows in a large-scale financial platform, with a focus on API design, service reliability, testing, and production stability.

Problem

Customer-facing platforms need to balance reliability, maintainability, and delivery speed. Backend services had to support evolving product requirements while remaining stable in production and easy for downstream systems to consume.

Architecture

The system relied on service-oriented backend components, API contracts, testing practices, production monitoring, and collaboration across engineering and product teams. My work focused on Java and Python services, API evolution, defect resolution, and architecture discussions around scalability.

My role

I worked across backend feature development, API implementation, production support, testing, and system improvements. Over time, my scope expanded from feature delivery to architecture discussions, reliability improvements, and support for AI-driven product integrations.

Technologies

Stack centered on JVM and Python services with explicit API contracts, automated test feedback loops, CI/CD for repeatable promotion, and Agile execution with cross-functional partners.

Impact

  • Improved reliability of customer and expert platform workflows
  • Increased deployment confidence through stronger testing and engineering practices
  • Supported scalable backend architecture and production issue resolution
  • Contributed to AI-enabled product capabilities through backend integration work
